Native to humid tropical regions.

This palm has a thin trunk and a crown with only a few more or less truncate leaves.

They grow as well in full sunlight as in shady spots. They need a warm environment. In rich damp soil it grows rapidly.

It can be used indoors where it is very decorative as long as the light is good.
